LORENA R. VALENCIA - FOUNDER
Lorena is an Emmy-winning, Mexican writer-director, producer, and founder of Lakhesis Films, based in New York. Her work has been featured in Forbes, USA Today, Fox5 News, CUNY TV, BRIC TV, among others, and has been screened at international festivals including the Morelia Film Festival, the Atlanta Film Festival, and NewFilmmakers LA. Lorena is a member of NYWIFT, NALIP, and Brown Girls Doc Mafia, and she is an alumna of the Emerging Content Creators Workshop at the NALIP Media Summit 2022 and the Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today Fellowship 2024. Her work explores themes of reproductive rights, identity, belonging and feminisms. She is currently directing the documentary short Meyolotl and developing her debut feature film Mayahuel, which was selected for the 2024 Cine Qua Non Lab's Storylines workshop.
CHYAN LO - FILMMAKER
Chyan is an all-round filmmaker with extensive experience in film editing, TV, and commercial industries in Taiwan and New York. Her portfolio features both narrative films and documentaries, driven by her interests in magical realism, feminism, and slow cinema. She is passionate about exploring stories that illuminate the diverse experiences of women across different cultural and societal frameworks.
